Secondary Venue | Bridge Pavilion
The Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion, also known as the Zaha Hadid Bridge, is a landmark architectural project designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Hadid considered this project to be one of the most important of her career.
The Bridge Pavilion spans 270 meters and its structure mimics the shape of a gladiolus stretched over the Ebro River. It is located at an oblique position over the river, very close to the Third Millennium Bridge. This innovative infrastructure connects the Delicias Intermodal Station with the Zaragoza Congress Center, crossing an island in the river.
This impressive building played a key role as one of the main entrances to the Zaragoza 2008 International Exposition. In addition to serving as a pedestrian walkway to access the site, it also functioned as the exhibition pavilion for the exhibition.
The interior space of the Bridge Pavilion is divided into three levels. Two of them are dedicated to exhibition areas and are connected by ramps. These levels are separated from each other by the central walkway, which also serves as a bridge and offers wonderful views of the Ebro River and the Expo’s surroundings.
